OUR STORY

"This shop comes from a deep love of the aesthetic culture Gen Z has produced online. I grew up with it, everything being tagged with cottagecore, mermaidcore, anything-core honestly. I never stuck to any one of them to define me though... I became an aesthetic collector. I truly believe this is a language in and of itself that my generation has created. Using very concise and specific visuals to communicate the feeling of a particular era or experience? I found it so inspiring.

This passion project that I started back in 2022... I wasn't expecting it to work. Making pixel art cursors was an idea I had on a vacation that spring, when I downloaded a pixel art design app on my phone to keep busy. This shop is the current iteration of my long journey with pixel art that started when I was 7 years old.

I went from zooming all the way in on an MS Paint canvas to make pixel art, to making it with graph paper from my math class in middle school, to using Minecraft to make massive pixel art statues, to animating and selling my own cursor packs on Etsy. Things were doing really well on there, so I thought I'd expand!

I wanted to change my cursor from the boring, ever-present white cursor, to something with a little more personality. I wound up not being able to find what I wanted online, so I said if you want something done right, do it yourself. I figured, if I want a custom cursor, why wouldn't other people want custom cursors? (Apparently using yourself as market research for your generation is not a terrible move).

I scoured the internet for programs and applications to use to make the files, spent hours perfecting my process, and here we are.

In the end, I hope that I can be an example that if you have an idea for a business venture, put in a lot of effort, and delude yourself into thinking it'll work...
